Daniel M. Cleto

Dan Cleto joined PKF Lawyers in January 2013. Prior to joining the firm he had a stint at the Criminal Duty Counsel’s Office of Legal Aid Manitoba.

Dan has a Law Degree from the University of the Philippines in 1991 and was a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Dan worked as a lawyer in the Philippine government and practiced in the areas of Criminal, Administrative, Commercial and Property law. In 1999, he received a World Bank study grant on Human Resource Management and Development conducted by the International Management and Development Institute (IMDI) at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States. In April of 2010, Dan completed his law degree equivalency at the Faculty of Law of the University of Manitoba and received his Certificate of Accreditation from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in August of 2010.

Dan has volunteered his services to the Filipino community in Winnipeg assisting immigrants in their understanding of their Philippine property and domestic issues in light of Philippine laws and regulations. His volunteer work was recognized at the Manitoba Legislature and recorded in Hansard in 2009. Dan continues to volunteer his time assisting Filipino community associations outside Winnipeg.

Reflecting Dan’s multi-national broad legal experience he is involved in the diverse practice areas of wills & estates, corporate and commercial transactions, real estate, domestic and family law, administrative law, criminal law and civil litigation.

When he is not at the Law Courts at 408 York in downtown Winnipeg or at the office, you can find Dan at the local basketball court on weekends teaching his son the finer points of playing Philippine style basketball.

Si Dan Cleto ay naging kabilang sa PKF LAWYERS noong January 2013. Bago pa man siya naging kabilang sa nasabing Law Firm siya ay dating naglingkod din sa Criminal Duty Counsel’s Office ng Legal Aid Manitoba.

Si Dan ay nagtapos ng Abogasya sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas o UP noong 1991 at kasapi din sa Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Nagtrabaho siya bilang abogado sa gobyerno ng Pilipinas at may karanasan sa larangan ng Kriminal, Administratibo, Commercial at mga batas tungkol sa mga Ari-arian sa Lupa. Si Dan ay naging Special Assistant ng Ministry of Culture , Heritage and Tourism ng lalawigan ng Manitoba kung saan siya ay naglingkod at nakipag ugnayan sa ibat ibang ahensya o tanggapan, Boards, Councils at mga organisasyong etniko sa ilalim ng tanggapan ng Minister of Culture Heritage and Tourism.

Si Dan ay naglingkod din bilang volunteer sa Filipino community sa pamamagitan ng Logan Constituency Office tulad ng pagtulong sa mga immigrant sa usapin ng Batas tungkol sa mga ari-arian na naiwan sa Pilipinas at iba pang usapin na may kaugnayan sa mga batas at mga regulasyon ng Pilipinas. Ang kanyang volunteer service ay kinilala ng Manitoba Legislature at nakatala sa Hansard noong 2009. Si Dan ay patuloy na naglilingkod bilang volunteer sa pagtulong sa mga samahan ng mga Pilipino sa komunidad sa labas ng Winnipeg.

Masasalamin sa malawak at multinational na karanasang legal ni Dan ang kanyang iba’t- ibang involvement sa mga larangan ng Canadian criminal law, wills and estates, corporate at commercial transactions, real estate,domestic and family law, administrative law at civil litigation.

Sa mga panahong si Dan ay wala sa Korte sa 408 York o maging sa kanyang opisina sa downtown Winnipeg , makikita ninyo siya sa isang basketball court tuwing sabado’t linggo na tinuturuan ang kanyang anak maglaro ng basketball sa istilong Pilipino.
