Adekunle Adewale

Kunle joined PKF Lawyers in 2022 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2023.

Kunle is a result driven internationally trained lawyer with legal and management experience, advising financial institutions, multilateral agencies and corporate entities in the areas of banking and finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance, and general corporate and commercial law.

He has Bachelor and Master of Laws degrees from University of Lagos and obtained a Certificate of Call to Bar from the Nigerian Law School. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, a Microfinance Certified Banker (MCB), a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria as well as a Registered Professional with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

Kunle was overseeing the legal and corporate governance responsibilities as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for two regulated financial institutions in Nigeria. One of the financial institutions has a global parent with head office in Washington DC. He was a Management Board member, Chairman of Staff Disciplinary Committee and sat on several management committees.

He also worked at a top tier commercial law firm in Nigeria where he advised international investment banks and onshore financial institutions on complex financial transactions.

As part of active community participation in Winnipeg, Kunle currently sits on the Boards of Greater Winnipeg Senior Citizens Non-Profit Housing Corporation (Hamilton House Board), Evermore Gather Grow Lead Inc., and Palliative Manitoba.

In his free time, Kunle enjoys watching his favourite Arsenal Premiership football matches, movies and listening to music.
