We are very proud of Andrew Winkless, practicing in Carman, who recently passed a significant Japanese language exam in Vancouver by the Japan Foundation (an entity created and run by the Japanese Government) that operates the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) all over the world (85 countries in total). There are 5 ranks (N5, the lowest, to N1, the highest). In Canada the test is held in Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto. Andrew took (and passed) N2 in December of 2018 and N1 in December of 2019! Only about a third of test takers pass N1 in any given sitting, so passing the first attempt was something of an achievement, although passing at all is a great achievement in of itself. Way to go Andrew!
