Position Overview

PKF Lawyers, Manitoba’s Law Firm, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our growing and dynamic team in our Winnipeg downtown location. Our culture is built on professional excellence, collaboration, and a strong sense of pride in the services we offer.

Primary roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare key documents to form Manitoba and Federal corporations, professional corporations
  • Prepare documents to form extra provincial registrations and business names
  • Create and maintain electronic and physical corporate minute books
  • Maintain and update corporate software (Unity)
  • Prepare annual returns, annual resolutions and business name renewals for various jurisdictions
  • Prepare documents for amalgamations, amendments, dissolutions, share transfers, changes of principals, dividends
  • Attend to online filing and searches with corporate registries across Canada
  • Respond to inquiries from lawyers, clients and legal agents in other jurisdictions

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Corporate law
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook & Cosmolex)
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and take instructions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative, when necessary
  • Deadline and detail orientated
  • Courteous and professional
