Troy is an owner, partner, and Vice President at PKF Lawyers, where he serves as the Head of the Civil Litigation Department and the Managing Director of the PKF Lawyers offices in the Pembina Valley, overseeing operations in Morden, Winkler, and Carman. His leadership and legal acumen have been instrumental in shaping the firm’s reputation for excellence.
Troy’s professional standing is built upon a strong commitment to professional ethics and client service. His negotiation skills are both effective and persuasive, supported by a demonstrated ability to provide balanced, well-considered, and timely advice to his clients. Troy understands that clients don’t want to be embroiled in litigation, they just need solutions. In this regard, he has a proven ability in crisis management and conflict resolution. He also has extensive experience representing clients at Manitoba Court of King’s Bench and Court of Appeal, where Troy is recognized as a strong and respected advocate.

Prior to his current role, Troy spent a decade as in-house counsel for a multinational corporation, where he developed specialized knowledge in business, intellectual property, privacy, employment, regulatory, and e-commerce law. This experience provided him with a unique perspective on corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, which he brings to his practice as an advocate. Troy offers clients comprehensive business, employment, strategic, and risk management advice, ensuring that his counsel is grounded in both legal principles and practical considerations. His ability to assess risks from multiple angles makes him a trusted advisor for businesses and organizations navigating complex legal and regulatory landscapes.
Troy has experience in public advocacy and government relations at the provincial, federal, and international levels. He also provides advice and legal services to non-profit companies as they navigate through government, regulatory, and administrative challenges.
One little know fact about Troy is that he played a key role in the development of international standards of practice for distance-care pharmacy medicine delivery, ensuring safety and ethical integrity in the industry. In 2010, he was invited to the U.S. White House to provide input on strategies to distinguish legitimate international pharmacies from fraudulent online businesses. His influence has also extended to policy discussions, having served as a panelist and presenter before the Canadian House of Commons, the Manitoba Legislature, and the United Nations Internet Governance Forum.
Beyond his legal career, Troy values family, health, and personal growth. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family and maintains an active lifestyle through swimming, running, playing the piano, and writing.
