New president announced at Morden Chamber of Commerce AGM
The Morden Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 16, during which it announced that a new community member will take on the role of president.
Stéphane Warnock, a lawyer at PKF Lawyers, is looking forward to filling the position.
Valuing giving back
Until this point, Warnock has served as the Morden Chamber of Commerce’s advocacy chair.
He said he’s excited about what the next chapter brings.
“I’m surrounded by really great people, and so that certainly makes the transition a little bit easier,” he said.
Warnock, who went to school in Morden before completing his education in Thunder Bay, moved back to the community to “raise [his] family and be part of a great business community.”
He added that he values giving back, which is one reason he was drawn to being part of the Morden Chamber.
“That’s something that’s really important to me. I’m from the community originally, and [seeing] the business community grow and succeed is something that’s important to me,” he said.
A vision for the Morden Chamber of Commerce
Moving forward, Warnock said the plan is to continue on the path the Morden Chamber is on.
“We’ve got some really great people on the board,” he said.
“We’re in a good situation to hopefully do a lot of positive things. We welcome feedback and comments from the business community so that we can continue to provide value to our members.”

Notes from the AGM
In addition to announcing a new president, the Morden Chamber’s AGM highlighted additional new Chamber members as part of its succession plan.
“We want to make sure that the Chamber, which has been in existence for 138 years, is going to continue to keep going forward in a strong way,” said Warnock.
“When we’re able to add people that have the types of skill sets that they have, that certainly helps us with that succession plan.”
Mayor Nancy Penner, who gave the State of the City Address, also took the opportunity to share a project taking shape in the city — the construction of a No Frills grocery store in Morden.
Ultimately, Warnock said he’s excited about what lies ahead for Morden.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the Morden business community, and we’re really looking forward to what happens next,” he said.
