Corporate Services Assistant/Junior Corporate Paralegal

PKF has an immediate opening in our Winnipeg corporate department for a full-time permanent position.

Qualifications

  • minimum of 3 years of practical training in a corporate law setting
  • self-motivated
  • be proficient with FastCompany and PCLaw or equivalent programs
  • able to multi-task and handle a substantial workload
  • able to take instruction from counsel
  • understand basic corporate transactions
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • highly organized and superior time management skills

Responsibilities will include:

  • preparation of annual returns, annual resolutions & business name renewals required by various jurisdictions
  • preparation of documents required to form corporations
  • corporate database maintenance
  • create, update and maintain corporate minute books
  • client correspondence and billings
  • online filings with various corporate registries across Canada
  • responding to daily inquiries from counsel and clients and handling day-to-day corporate matters
  • documentation for purchase and sale transactions, dividends, amendments, reorganizations, amalgamations and various corporate transactions
  • general administrative duties
  • responsibilities in a corporate department setting as required and assigned

Legal Assistant
Pullan Kammerloch Frohlinger - Selkirk, MB

PKF is seeking to hire a Real Estate legal assistant for our Selkirk office. This is a full-time position, starting immediately. We offer a comprehensive group benefits package. Salary commensurate with experience. Interested candidates are invited to submit a resume in confidence to our office manager, Holly Kotowich, setting out salary expectations and references.

Duties include:

  • Preparing documents and correspondence based on written instruction, verbal direction, and precedents;
  • Management of electronic and physical legal files;
  • All aspects of a Real Estate file which includes but not limited to Sales and Purchases;
  • Reporting out Real Estate files to clients and banks in a timely manner;
  • Handling of Trust monies in respect to Real Estate matters;
  • Data input and generating reports and billings from our electronic practice management program, PC Law;

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skill and/or abilities:

  • Legal training and experience;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask;
  • Familiarity with Conveyancer Real Estate Program;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and comfortable using technology;
  • Ideal candidate will be familiar with PC Law;
  • Collegial, and prepared to help others and work as a team with other support staff;

  • Day-to-day support for more than one lawyer’s practice
