Erin Coyne
B.A., LL.B.

Erin Coyne is an Associate at our Carman office. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a focus on health care policy, from McGill University and later received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of New Brunswick. She received her call to the Manitoba Bar in March 2013 and later received her call to the British Columbia Bar in October 2016.

Erin grew up in a small border town in New Brunswick where her mother taught elementary school. Following her graduation from law school, she enrolled in the Canadian Forces as a Naval Officer. While she unfortunately suffered an injury which caused her to release from the military, her release led to her to the practice of law in Manitoba, where she has practised since 2013.

Erin primarily practises in the areas of family law; civil litigation and labour and employment. Erin will always attempt to resolve your family matter amicably without resorting to litigation, however, she is also aware that in certain circumstances, you sometimes do require the assistance of the Court to resolve your dispute.

Regardless of whether a matter is resolved with or without litigation, Erin will ensure that your child(ren)’s best interests are at the forefront of any discussion or negotiation. In particular, Erin will ensure that her clients have the tools to communicate in a respectful manner with their former partner to not only ensure that they can co-parent effectively, but also to keep their legal costs to a minimum.

Whether your matter is an urgent custody matter or a separation agreement you both mostly agree to, Erin will ensure that you receive solutions-oriented advice in the most cost effective manner so that you both can move forward and focus on what is really important.
