Gary Michael Sarcida joined the firm in January 2004, as an articling student, having graduated with his LL.B from Robson Hall of the University of Manitoba in May 2003. He received his Call to the Bar, June 14, 2005 and is now an Associate with Pullan Kammerloch Frohlinger. Gary practices in various areas with an emphasis on Litigation.
As a member of Winnipeg’s Filipino community Gary adds a valuable language and cultural ingredient to the firm together with a fine academic record. He was on the dean’s list and received the Guertin history prize from St. Paul’s College.
Gary’s involvement in the Filipino community runs deep. He can communicate in the official Filipino language of Tagalog, is currently involved in organizing a cultural association for the growing Filipino-Canadian population in Steinbach and he was recently featured in the Filipino Journal, “Gary M. Sarcida: A New Legal Blood in the Court of Law.” Gary is a member of the Philippine Association of Manitoba Inc., and is on the Board of Directors of the Folk Arts Council of Winnipeg Inc. (Folklorama).
Gary did a stint in insurance with Manulife Financial (life and disability claims, adjudication); prosecutions with the Manitoba Department of Justice (archiving and DB management), and Canada Customs and Revenue (corporate returns).
Gary brings excellent computer skills and program knowledge to the firm, backed by a good record in time management and attention to detail.
A man of incredible drive, Gary lives by these words from Vince Lombardi, “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but a lack of will.”
